Altisha Glaster, MSW, MPA
Founder & Educational Consultant | Kaynas Group LLC
Leadership, Governance & Community Service
Altisha's leadership extends beyond the classroom and school system. Throughout her career, she has remained actively engaged in professional associations, educational governance, child advocacy, and community-based organizations.
Altisha is a former President of the Northern New Jersey Association of Black Social Workers, where she provided leadership focused on advancing the social work profession, supporting professional development, strengthening community engagement, and advocating for the needs of children, families, and communities. Her leadership within the organization reflects her longstanding commitment to culturally responsive practice, professional mentorship, community empowerment, and creating opportunities for social workers to connect, collaborate, and lead.
She has also served on the boards of multiple educational, child advocacy, social service, and professional organizations, contributing experience in governance, policy development, strategic planning, organizational development, community engagement, professional learning, and advocacy.
Altisha has served as a Trustee and former Board President of Phillips Academy Charter School, where her governance responsibilities have included oversight of strategic planning, budgets, policies, organizational goals, contracts, financial reporting, and institutional accountability.
Her community and professional leadership has also included service with organizations such as Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey/ChildWIN and the National Center for Diversity, Equity & Wellness in School.
These leadership experiences have allowed Altisha to understand education and social services from multiple perspectives—from working directly with children and families to supervising professionals, developing programs, teaching future practitioners, leading professional organizations, advising community partners, and participating in educational governance.
Together, these experiences reinforce the philosophy behind Kaynas Group: lasting change happens when families, educators, social service professionals, organizations, and communities work together to create stronger systems for children.
